MACAAl Presents Felicity

On Wednesday, May 22nd, 2019 at 8pm, the Museum of Contemporary African Art Al Maaden (MACAAL) Marrakech will show the film Félicité (Felicity). Directed by Alain Gomis, the film is a Franco-Belgian-German-Senegalese-Lebanese co-production.

The story describes a single mother, Felicite, and her 16-year-old son Samon. When Samon gets into a motorcycle accident, Felicite begins a heart driven campaign to raise money and save her son from a leg amputation. Viewers are brought into a contemporary Congo society where they can experience the reality of life in Central Africa while being able to relate to the film on a basic human-to-human level. The film won the Jury Grand Prix at the 2017 Berlinale and can be enjoyed in the 1000 m2 open-air MACAAL garden.
