Marrakech’s Voice Gallery Exhibits Photo Series By Artismous

Voice Gallery, Dounia Series

The Dounia series was shot by Artismous by Art Director Artsi Ifrach and Visual Photographer Mous Lamrabat. Since discovering similar values, the duo decided to collaborate.

Lamrabat is a self-taught photographer born in Morocco and raised in Belgium. His emigration experience was challenging and made him question his own cultural identity during his formative years. Today Lamrabat channels his once uncomfortable life lessons into his work. He aims to bridge the gap between Morocco and the western world.

The concept for Dounia was inspired by Marrakech’s historic Medina.

The concept for Dounia was inspired by Ifrach and Lamrabat’s walks around the Marrakech Medina. The majority of materials used for the shoot, such as fabric and plastic came from the this UNESCO historic city.

Voice Gallery was founded by Rocco Orlacchio in 2011 with the aim of sharing his perspective on Marrakech. For Orlacchio, the Red City is a fertile ground for art and the gallery is a window to see into an authentic Marrakech. The gallery is well appointed in Sidi Ghanem, Marrakech’s design district. Maria José Arjona, Julia Krahn, Barthélémy Toguo, and Mihael Milunovic, are other artists whose work is supported by Voice Gallery.
