Palais des Congres Present Show By Decouflé

This Friday, April 12th, 2019 as part of the French cultural season in Morocco, Palais des Congrès in Marrakech will present a dance performance by Compagnie DCA. The miming act will be led by Director Philippe Decouflé and his choreographic assistant Alexandra Naudet. Decouflé is a French choreographer, dancer, mime artist, and theatre director.

His extensive resume includes studying under Alwin Nicolais at the Centre National de la Danse Contemporaine. He formed his own company Découflé Company of Arts in Bagnolet, working for the Lyon Opera Ballet, choreographing the music video for New Order’s True Faith and Fine Young Cannibal’s She Drives Me Crazy, the latter won the Best Music Video prize at the 1988 BRIT Awards. Among many other achievements, Decouflé also wrote and directed the Cirque du Soleil shows Iris and Paramour. Paramour debuted in NYC in 2016. Decouflé has a strong connection with Morocco given he traveled extensively through the country as a child.

The performance will take in the at prestigious location within the Hivernage district of the Palais des Congrès Marrakech. The structure is admired for its architecture and boasts an oriental style decor, natural acoustics, and a state of the art sound system. The venue has hosted international congresses, seminars, conferences, exhibitions, and parties for the past several years. The Palais des Congrès was recently renovated and is managed by the Mövenpick Mansour Eddahbi. The five-star hotel aims to achieve the vision of Ahmed Al Mansour Eddahbi, a Sultan of the Saadian dynasty who played a role in raising the cultural status of Marrakech.
