King Mohammed VI, in honor of Ramadan and the mission of the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity, has inaugurated two medical facilities. On Monday, May 20th, 2019 the Casablanca district of Sidi Moumen received a new medical center. The facility is estimated to serve 500,000 people and includes a maternal and child ward, emergency rooms, consultation space, medical unit, orthopedic rehabilitation, and will specialize in cardiology and ophthalmology. Additionally, there will be a dental unit.

A larger dental facility, a Regional Center for Dental Care was also opened in Rabat-Sale-Kenitra district. The institution required a 25 million dirham investment and will offer the most comprehensive dental services in Morocco.

Behind these inaugurations is the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity. Opened in 1999 by King Mohammed VI, the foundation is working to provide care to the underprivileged and fight poverty. The foundation’s motto is “ready to help the needy” and includes a history of projects in sustainable development, opening community centers, and upgrading public hospital specialty units. The Foundation also built accommodation facilities for cancer patients and their families in Al Hoceima and medical centers in Oujda and Tetouan. It is recognized by the United Nations Economic and Social Council.
