Thierry Marx, internationally renown 2 Star Michelin Chef, will host a pop-up dining experience at the Mandarin Oriental’s Mes’Lalla restaurant from September 6-November 30, 2019.  Marrakech natives and travelers to Morocco can anticipate dining on some of the world’s cuisine. Marx is renown for creating avant-garde textures and flavors while working with the freshest and finest ingredients.

The pop-up menu featured at Mes’Lalla restaurant be infused with molecular cooking principles inspired by the chef’s travels throughout Asia and life in France. Highlights will include Salmon with seaweed, squid carpaccio, peach juice-glazed roasted zucchini with marinated peaches and marjoram.

Marx was trained at the Ledoyen, Taillevent, and Robuchon. He joined the Mandarin Oriental Paris following ten years at the Châteaux Cordeillan Bages. His career has been marked with multiple Michelin Stars with the first granted in 1988 at Roc en Val in Tours.

Mes’Lalla restaurant specializes daily men typically consists of traditional Moroccan dishes. It’s signature items include the Tangia M’rrakchia, slow cooked beef shank, semolina with chickpeas and carrots and tagines with preserved lemons and the characteristic crushed Mes’Lalla olives. The luxurious Moroccan dining experience is complemented by the Mandarin Oriental hotel’s Berber and Moorish inspired decor. The hotel is marked by the design signature of French duo Patrick Gilles and Dorothée Boissier. The property is surrounded by 20 hectares of gardens filled with olive groves, roses, and Bougainvillea plants. The spa resembles Andalucia’s ancient mosques and cathedrals with its riveting arches that offer a keen visual on arrival. The Mandarin Oriental is 10 kilometers from Marrakech Medina, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
