Maison de la Photographie, Marrakech’s leading photography museum showcases Femme du Maroc from February 28th – April 1st, 2019. This photography exhibtion celebrates the spirit of Women in Morocco and is a testimony to their presence. It’s opening was timed to coincide with International Women’s Day on March 8th, 2019. Since the early years of photography in Morocco, around 1860, until today, photographers have emphasized the roles of women in society and also the diversity of personalities, adornments, songs and dances of which women are mothers , the protectors and the essential actors. The photographic archives of the Maison de la Photographieare a vibrant testimony of the immense presence of Moroccan women. Visitors can discover the roles women have had in Moroccan society through illustrated portraits of them.
