Royal Air Maroc, New Routes

The power of social media is no secret and London’s Ambassador Reilly did well to take advantage of this. On June 12, 2018, he took to his twitter account to complain about his flight from London to Casablanca on Royal Airways Maroc. “Just landed in Casablanca after a really cramped and uncomfortable flight on RAM. Is it just me or have they reduced the leg-room between the seat rows?…..and (the flight) was more than an hour late.” The ambassador has a large and active following on his social media streams. He takes many trips to Morocco to work on projects. A recent project involves an ecotourism collaboration between Kasbah du Toubkal, a luxury guest house, and the Education For All Morocco (EFA), “which provides employment opportunities for the local community and education for girls in rural areas,” he shared on Twitter.

The ambassador’s voice is growing more popular in Morocco and it is highly likely that he had a strong influence on the recent changes at RAM Airways. They recently announced that 35 RAM Boeing 737-800 flights will gradually decrease their 159 economy seats to 147 seats.

The changes are well-timed. RAM launched several new routes in 2019. This includes a direct flight to Boston and most recently a new route between Casablanca and Bejing scheduled to open on January 16, 2020. Customers who book tickets need to feel secure that their flights will be comfortable.
