On April 13, 15, 18, the Moroccan Philharmonic, Morocco’s National Symphony Orchestra, will reproduce Tosca for the second time under the direction of Jean-Marc Biskup in Rabat. Tosca, written in 1899, is one of Puccini’s romantic scores. It tells the tale of a tragic love story between Floria Tosca, an opera singer and her lover Cavaradossi, a painter being chased by the Roman police. The opera chronicles Tosca’s passionate efforts to save Cavaradossi’s life. Highly anticipated performers will include Maria Callas, Bulgarian soprano Stefanna Kybalova ( Tosca), Moroccan tenor Abdellah Lasri ( Cavaradossi). Artistic advisor and first guest conductor Olivier Holt will interpret and lead the Orchestra. The concert will take place in Rabat’s Mohammed V National Theatre, famous for their live music events and hosting iconic stars like Charles Aznavour, Badr Rami, Eleftheria Arvanitaki, Anoushka Shankar, Susana Baca, Lotfi Bouchnak, Rafael Amargo, Jahida Wehbe.
