Yves Saint Laurent, French Ambassador to 20th Century fashion and co-founder of Marrakech’s Yves Saint Laurent Museum had a penchant for films. Inspired by this, YSL curators created cinema Thursdays, a weekly evening favorite for Marrakechi locals. YSL continues to showcase a rich variety of programs that were a source of innovation for Laurent’s design creations. The cinema club plays classics like Casablanca, Godard, Wilder, and Wong Kar-Wai. In March, Macbeth and Othello were among the featured presentations. Screenings begin at 7 pm accompanied by a discussion (French). Films are shown in their original versions with French subtitles. French films display English subtitles.
