William Sabatini and Helia Jamali, founders of the Electronic music label Sol Selectas chose Morocco to launch their exclusive 6-day music festival, SolSahara will take place in the Moroccan Sahara Desert from April 10 through April 15. Sol Selectas journey through the sand dunes of the Sahara Desert is a curated all-inclusive intimate gathering in Morocco, where we visitors can celebrate life, music, and adventure. Sol Selectas is famous for it’s tribal and mystic sounds.
The festival was born from inspiration gained during Sabatani and Helia’s private travels through Morocco’s villages and countryside. “We realized it was time to share the roots of where the music comes from with the fans of Sol Selectas and team members; we want them to get familiar with the different tribes of Morocco,” says Jamali. There will be live performances by DJs Be Svendsen, Goldcap, and Amine K.
Additionally, the label plans to invite Sol Selectas artists as well as local Moroccan musicians. The festival theme will draw from Burning Man, where Sabatini, also a music producer and Dj, finds many of the Sol Selectas artists. Apart from introducing festival goers to Morocco, the duo is also excited for attendees to experience traditional Moroccan cuisine, explore the historical Berber town of Ouarzazate and shop the souks of Marrakech. Another goal of the festival is for attendees to enjoy a digital detox while experiencing the tranquillity of the Sahara.
