Boulangerie Patisserie Charif, a Belgium patisserie with a traditional French Cafe and International menu opened in Marrakech on Sunday, April 7th, 2019. With its first location is in Casablanca this new Gueliz patisserie is owned and run by El Hamdaoui Charif. El Hamdaoui is no stranger to the restaurant business, having opened his first cafe, shop in Belgium in 1999. There are now 11 cafe shops abroad, 9 in Antwerp and 2 in Brussels; a shop in Casablanca opened 2 years prior. El Hamadoui spent 6 years training as a pastry chef at the Provincial Institute PIVA in Antwerp and is excited to bring his baking expertise to Marrakech. Boulangerie Patisserie Charif specializes in bread and baguettes. Their chocolate is sourced from Belgium, and Boulangerie Patisserie Charif will be the first in Marrakech to introduce a sugar-free cake option – with the goal is to add a sugar-free desert section. The international menu was created to feature a variety of breakfast options and for lunch will serve a tagine of the day, finger food, pasta, and pizza.
