Morocco is the second fastest growing destination for US travelers, claims Squarespace, a major travel insurance provider in the United States.
Egypt ranks first. The year-to-year spending for travel has increased by 6.7% with the average cost for a trip to Morocco estimating $3,673. According to the Morocco tourism observatory, 12.3 million tourists traveled to Morocco in 2018; this is a 8.3 % increase from 2017. Some of these numbers are represented by arrivals from Italy ( +15% ) Germany
(+10% ), France (+ 8 %), and Spain (+6%); the US travel data to Morocco is significant too. Statistics from the observatory demonstrate that from January to October 2018, tourists coming from the US were 316,450; for the same period in 2010, American tourists to Morocco totaled 159,508
Morocco’s fastest growing destinations include the imperial city Marrakech ( +10%) and the coastal city, Agadir (+8%). Fez, Rabat, and Tangier have also been showing continuously increasing activity. Recently, Royal Air Maroc announced they will launch a direct flight from Casablanca to Boston in June 2019.
