On January 14, 2020, at 7:30 pm the Institut Français de Casablanca will show Camille a film created by Boris Lojkine. The dramatic film stars Nina Meurisse, who plays Camille Lepage, a young passionate photojournalist who leaves for the Central African Republic to cover the civil war. Her idealism led her commitment to the cause which ultimately ended her life at age 26.

This is Boris Lojkine’s fifth film. It was inspired by the 2014 death of Camille Lepage. For the filming, Lojkine interacted with Central African locals who trained to help recreate the true-life situation and disappearance of the young woman.

Camille was first shown at the Locarno Switzerland Film Festival in 2019. Founded in 1946, it is one of the longest-running film festivals and a prestigious platform for art house films. The film’s other cast members include Fiacre Bindala and Todeschini Bruno.

The film will also play on January 23, 2020, at 7:30 PM – 9 PM.
Price of entry: 30 MAD ($3)
