From March 30-April 3, 2020, the 2020 Social and Behavior Change Communication Summit (SBCC) will take place in Marrakech. Organized in collaboration with the Johns Hopkins Center for Communication Programs, the event promises to facilitate transformational conversations on the world’s most pressing issues like poverty, gender equality, and the protection of the planet.
The 2020 SBCC Summit will bring together intellectual and innovative leaders from around the globe to Morocco. Together they will examine scientific evidence, innovations, and lead debates on diverse methodology, highlight successes, and challenges that will be stimulated by five days of research presentations, skills-building workshops, and multimedia sessions.
There will also be dedicated spaces for youth topics, practitioners from Francophone countries, and several opportunities for brainstorming big ideas that aim to impact the climate crisis, food security, human rights, education, and many sustainable development goals.
The SBCC event will take place at the Palais des Congres, a part of the luxurious Movenpick Mansour Eddhahbi hotel complex. The location is well known for being apart of historical events. These include the 1994 signing of the Agreement establishing the World Trade Organization (GATT) and the organization of the first African Action Summit, part of the 22nd Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change ( COP22). Previous summits were held in Ethiopia and Indonesia.
