The 11th edition of the International Festival of Environmental Films (FICMA) will take place in Chefchaouen from May 26-20, 2020. The festival is organized in collaboration with the Talassemtane Association for Environment and Development (ATED). Since 1996 the ecological club has carried out projects with the support of the local Moroccan authorities and community. In addition to a series of African feature films and documentaries covering agriculture, urbanization, national parks, ocean life, and animals, the festival will host mini-conferences organized by (ATED). Round table discussions and workshops will inform, educate, and raise awareness for ecological issues on the African continent. The aim is to raise the importance of global sustainability and bring solutions for current issues like climate change, pollution, and waste. FICMA is the oldest film festival of it’s kind with team members located around the blog. In addition to Morocco, FICMA has also held events in Mexico, Spain, and France.
For the past seven years, the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) has chosen FICMA to appear in its exhibitions held throughout 36 Latin American and Caribbean countries.
