In celebration of Ramadan, the Art Lounge of Sofitel Marrakech Imperial Palace Hotel will showcase a series of conferences about the secrets of Ramadan. Poet, translator, and Sufism expert, Touria Ikbal has been invited to speak and present. The topics are, Listen to The Secret of Fasting (May 15th); The Secret of Prayer (May 22nd), and the Night of Destiny (May 29th) will be spread out throughout the last two weeks of May.

Ikbal was born, raised, and educated in Marrakech and Rabat. She holds a Graduate Diploma in Economics from the Faculty of Legal, Economic and Social Sciences Marrakech. As the President of the Cultural Association of Marrakech, Ikbal is active in the reviving Morocco’s heritage. She has also published several translated studies on Sufism including Retreat Of A Heart, a collection of poems by Muniam Al Feker and spoken at international events.
Touria Ikbal lectured in Bahrain about Ibn Arabi, an Arab Andalucian Muslim scholar, mystic, poet, and philosopher and presented at the Maghreb Edition of Expression Française (France). She also read poetry at the Curtea de Arges Poetry festival (Romania), the Terranova Festival in Metz, and the Poetic Social Mission, a gathering of international celebrities organized by the director of Cirque du Soleil, Guy Laliberté. Ikbal was a part of the international conference on Emir Abdelkader (Man Of All Time) held in Tlemcen, the capital of Islamic culture 2011.
