Distinguished Men’s Race 2019, Marrakech

Marrakech is officially taking part in the world’s largest charitable motorcycle event on Sunday, September 29th, 2019. The fundraiser hopes to entice the owners of classic and vintage styled bikes in Morocco to join the global event. The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride (DGM) is part of a preventative men’s health strategy. It aims to raise $7 million USD for prostate cancer research and men’s mental health support. Since 2012 the event has taken place in over 600 cities and brought together thousands of riders.

For 2019, the DGM estimates that it will include over 120,000 well-dressed gentlefolk and have the participation of over 700 cities and 110 countries. From the African continent, Kenya, Zimbabwe, and South Africa have also agreed to participate. This year will be the first time Morocco is participating.

The registration will officially open on August 1st, 2019. Marrakech riders will have road details once their forms have been accepted.

The DGR is a niche-specific event with a unique dress code and vehicle criteria. All riders must appear dressed in tailored suits, silk waistcoats, crisp shirts, stylish caps, and polished brogues. Women can also participate in the event, however, they too must adhere to wearing sophisticated attire.

The event does not require a registration fee, however, it is expected that participants will make a respectable effort to donate or raise money on their own. The event has strategically partnered with the Movember Foundation, a leading global organization committed to changing men’s health. The fundraising will go directly to the Movember Foundation. DGM was founded in Sydney, Australia by Mark Hawwa. It is sponsored by Triumph, Hedon, BikeEXIF, and REV’IT.
