For two consecutive nights, the 2019 Night of Philosophers will take place in Morocco’s imperial cities Rabat and Casablanca. The event will begin on November 8, 2019, at 6:30 pm at the Mohammed V University – Faculty of Sciences, Rabat. The following evening Casablanca’s French Institute will also host the panel of over 30 intellectuals and artists.
Throughout a series of debates and dialogues, the organizers and participants will explore the theme of Sharing. The topic will be divided into four sections: Sharing the land and sharing the land; Sharing work, rest and recreation; Sharing Work and Wealth, and Sharing Knowledge.
The program is curated by Dominique Meda, a French philosopher and sociologist, and Mohamed Doukkali, a Moroccan professor of the Philosophy Department at Mohammed V University in Rabat. They will both be among the list of anticipated intellectual and artistic speakers.
Other presenters include Ms. Ilham Laaziz, a Doctor of State in Applied Sciences and Program Director GENIE at the Ministry of National Education and Vocational Training; Mr. Tabyaoui, Vice-Dean of Academic Affairs and at the Faculty of Sciences Rabat; Mr. David Goeury a teacher/researcher at Spaces Nature and Cultures Sorbonne Universities with a Ph.D. in geography; Driss Khrouz an Economist and current Director of the Festival of Sacred Music of Fes; and Philosophers 2019 moderator Mohamed Azouzi, an Associate of letters and French literature teacher.
