Sofia Saidi Miss Arabe Brings Crown Home to Morocco

Rabat native Sofia Saidi, the newly crowned Miss Arab is on a mission to use her new status to inspire girls in Morocco. The North African beauty won the Arab Next Top Model competition on Saturday, June 29, 2019. Although she was working as Chief Project Manager for the PSA group, when Arab World Next Top Model contacted her, she made time.

Saidi wanted to show Moroccan girls that anything is possible if you set your mind to it and are willing to do the hard work. The 24-year old beauty is patriotic and attributes her success in the competition to being raised in Morocco.

“For me, Moroccan culture is above all about sharing an environment that is both oriental and western. I’m lucky to be Moroccan because this nationality is one of the few that adapts to different environments and backgrounds easily, both linguistically and socially.”

Saidi began modeling in 2016 in Casablanca. She became almost an overnight success which brought her to international attention. She then relocated to Paris to continue modeling and to pursue a Master’s Degree.

Saidi has been vocal about how much she values academics. She earned a Bachelor Degree in international management and holds two Masters Degrees from the Panthéon-Assas University Paris. She was valedictorian for her degree in strategic organizational and technological evolutionism and also holds a Master’s Degree in strategic management and entrepreneurship.

As the second Moroccan woman in history to win Miss Arab she remains proud. Dalal Elghazali was crowned Miss Arab in 2017 and Morocco’s Sara Ichara was 1st Runner Up in 2016. World Next Top Model is sponsored by MTC Lebanon.
