Morocco’s cultural capital Fes has been diligently working towards rebranding its image in 2019 to make this UNESCO city more accessible for travelers visiting Morocco. Fes is known for its world heritage Medina and talented craftsmen who will participate in hosting the 5th International Artists Gathering.
The event will take place between January 9-12, 2019 ALIF at Riad 6 Derb Drissi. It will be held under the theme of a “creative economy.” A host of workshops, exhibitions, concerts, round table discussions, and demonstrations will take place. The artist conference will create a space for artists and intellectuals to discuss the role of creative industries in Morocco and throughout the African continent.
Featured speakers at the 5th annual Artists Gathering will include a variety of entrepreneurs, artists, and designers. The event was first established in 2015 by Omar Chennafi, a Moroccan artist and photographer. The International Artists Gathering is supported by The Fez Medina Project, The American Language Center of Fez, Palais Amani, Cafe Clock, and the Goethe Institute in Rabat.
