Saturday, April 20th, 2019, marked the 23rd Edition of Caftan Marrakech. This Haute Couture fashion show is one of Morocco’s most anticipated annual events. This year’s theme was Seven Wonders Of World.
Caftan’s style parade showcased 19 designers, 3 of whom are emerging young talents. Designer Hind Lamtiri’s Taj Mahal inspired collection set the mood for the show. Meriem Belkhayat’s caftans reflected tradition and modernity with hints of the Colosseum. Designers Samira Mhaidi Knouzi, Imane Tadlaoui, Huda Larini, Nisrine Ezzaki Bakted kali represented the Hanging Gardens of Babylon and Hadia Benjelloun showcased her ideas on the Colossus of Rhodes.
Since 1996, Caftan, launched by the magazine “Femmes du Maroc”, has been an annual event dedicated to Moroccan traditional and high fashion. Stylists and lead models, showcase designers couture wear revealing the beauty and magic of their Orientalist art.
