On Friday, January 10, 2020, at 5:30 PM – 7 PM Cafe Clock, Marrakech
will host a night with author James von Leyden. The British writer will share excerpts from his newest book A Death in the Medina. The captivating thriller was released in summer 2019 and set in the Marrakech medina during Ramadan holy month. The story begins simply by describing the troubles of an international couple who have had their bag stolen in the medina. Quickly, however, the light-hearted novel turns dark and mysterious, when 24-year-old detective Karim discovers a Moroccan girl’s body discarded in a hand cart. Karim’s peaceful month of fasting and prayer is disturbed and he must rise to the challenge by uncovering the twisted truth.
