From December 26- January 5, 2020, the second edition of Marrakech Art Week – MAW will take place. The event aims to spotlight Moroccan talent and commemorate Marrakech as the designated African Capital of Culture 2020. A combination of museums, foundations, art galleries, and auction houses will be participating in the event. Many of the city leaders in the field of art will come together to organize special programs that promote Morocco, the Orient, and the African continent. They are, Dar El Bacha, Dar Si Said, Yves Saint Laurent Museum Marrakech, YSL Majorelle Gardens, MACAAL Garden, Farid Belkahia, Foundation Montresso Foundation, Voice Gallery, David Bloch Gallery, Venice Gallery Casablanca Frame, Khalid Art Gallery, Galerie Tindouf, Galerie Siniya 28, Loft Art Gallery, and Artcurial.
Among the anticipated exhibitions will be a kaftan collection acquired by Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Bergé featured at the Dar El Bacha – Confluence Museum. Additionally, Loft Art Gallery will collaborate with El Fenn to showcase a series of African artists. Their work reflects their experiences addressing universal identity in the context of art.
