The 2019 Forbes 30 Under 30 List Africa was announced and includes two talented Moroccans. Casablanca born Wissal Farsal (26) and Khalid Machchate (27) are a power duo. They are recognized by the tech community in Morocco as well as abroad.
With its headquarters located in Meknes, K&W Technologies is growing quickly. Their company launched only 3 years ago. Success, however, was not achieved overnight. Farsal and Machchate worked long hours and entered several tech competitions. In 2017, the duo created a software solution for SOS Health which granted them Entrepreneur of the Year by DEMO Africa. The program was used to detect accidents and connect them with the nearest hospitals. The structure of the program also won the teammates the Africa Lion Title for their design work.
Individually, Farsal and Machate have also made their marks. Wissal is a Ph.D. researcher in Deep Learning for Software and IoT Engineer, a Co-chair for Arab Women in Computing, and CTO and Co-founder of SOS Sante. She graduated from the Université Hassan II de Casablanca and has a Ph.D. from the National School of Computer Science and Systems Analysis – ENSIAS.
Khalid Machchate is a Moroccan Serial Techpreneur, Digital Transformation, and Disruptive Technologies Expert. He is also a Social Development Activist who organizes Accelerator Programs, Hackathons, Open Innovation programs, and Training Academies. Machchate is a university professor in Digital Transformation and Marketing, having won 17 international innovation awards, including Arabnet Startup Battle, Challenge 22, and Startup Open.
