Helinatha Solar is an energy company working with the Rabat University of Mohamed V and The British Space Agency KSF. On September 18-19, 2019, it will co-host Morocco’s first International Fair of Smart and Sustainable Cities (SIVDI). The other three organizers are MISEN-Moroccan Institute for Solar Energy and Heliantha Robotics.
Over two days experts and specialists in sustainability, energy transition, and intelligent cities will lead conferences and round table discussions. The theme of the conference is digital and energy transitions for the benefit of the economy. Topics of discussion include smart-grid, industry 4.0, AI and co-development, building an intelligent city, accelerating digital energy transformation through economic and legal tools, urban resilience and territorial sustainability.
The SIVDI fair has been organized in response to the many countries focusing on energy transition. Morocco is leading the movement. The northern kingdom aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and reach 52% of installed electricity capacity with renewable energies by 2050. Morocco also seeks to be referred to as a leader in the smart city trend. The Heliantha Solar organization reported that over 50% of Moroccans live in cities. This is estimated to rise to 70% by 2050.
The SIVDI Fair will be hosted at the National School of Computer Science and Systems Analysis (ENSIAS), a Heliantha Solar venue. ENSIAS was founded in 1992 and is one of ten institutions of the University Mohammed V-Souissi. It is a major engineering school specializing in Information and Communication Technologies. The event will run from 9-5pm on both days.
